New Delhi, 19 Feb 2007: Kerala today asked the Centre to explore the possibility of involving a Russian public sector firm in the construction of the much-delayed Vizhinjam harbour project in Thiruvananthapuram.
Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told mediapersons here that he had discussed the issue with Defence Minister A K Antony.
He said the Russian company Rosoboron Services had expressed interest in the project in the wake of the denial of permission by the Centre to a Chinese company, which was selected through a global tender for the execution of the Vizhinjam project, on security grounds.
