Trivandrum: Russian Ambassador to India Vyacheslav Trubnikov assured all help for the project. Russian officials will participate in the Vizhinjam Project Investors' Meet on April 17th at Thiruvananthapuram, Trubnikov told Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan at a meeting here.

At the Russian Cultural Festival, Trubnikov also promised to take up the state's request for using part of the `Rupee-Rouble' fund for setting up the USD 950 million project at Vizhinjam. Trubnikov was accompanied by Russian Consul General the head of the cultural department of the Russian Embassy Fyoder Rozovskiy. Law Minister M Vijayakumar was present at the occasion.

Russian company Rosoboron Services Ltd had already expressed interest in the project in the wake of the denial of permission by the Centre to a Chinese company, which was selected through a global tender for the execution of the Vizhinjam project, on security grounds.
