Kerala Government has decided to re-evaluate the tender submitted by Zoom Developers

Posted on 30 Apr 2009
In the light of the Supreme Court verdict, the Kerala Government has decided to re-evaluate the tender submitted by the Mumbai-based Zoom Developers for the proposed container trans-shipment terminal at Vizhinjam.

The State Cabinet, which met on Wednesday, has asked the Bid Evaluation Committee to examine the tender documents submitted by Zoom developers.

The Chief Minister, Mr V.S. Achuthanandan, said after the Cabinet meeting that it was also decided to inform Hyderabad-based Lanco Kondappilly Power Ltd, which bagged the Rs 4,500-crore contract for the development of the container terminal, that its letter on the readiness to execute the Rs 50-crore guarantee would be considered by the Government.

Litigation

The tender process had run into trouble after Zoom Developers went to the High court alleging that its bid was not properly evaluated before awarding the contract to Lanco Kondappilly Power Ltd.

The case later reached the Supreme Court, which in its recent verdict asked Zoom Developers to approach the High Court if it had any complaints about the tendering process.
